Warren, PA: The Kinzua Wrestling Club is offering a three-part series intended to help prepare high school students for the transition from high school to adulthood. These presentations are open to any high school student and/or student-athlete at their new home, 200 Struthers Street (i.e., former Riverside Bowling Alley). Session I - Monday April 24 at 6-7:30 PM. Session II - Monday May 1 at 6-7:30 PM. Session III - Monday June 5 at 6-7:30 PM.
These three-part interactive sessions will focus on two main objectives, student self-reflection (i.e., What do I want in life?), and guidance in preparing for adulthood. The three life skill sessions will focus on education planning, career development, and financial literacy. All sessions will be interactive, and participants will receive a personal portfolio upon completion.
Facilitators for the series include Amanda Bajdo (Warren Public Library), Rose Clark (Northern Pennsylvania Regional College), Dr. Dennis Johnson (retired educator/wrestling leadership consultant), Tom Morelli (United Refinery engineer-retired), Kim Nelson (retired educator), and Andrew Papalia (YMCA).
Refreshments will be provided for each presentation and there will be a prize drawing for those participants attending all sessions (e.g., YMCA membership and a Samsung Tablet).
